One Down, Hundreds to Go. (In California. Day Five)

Unintentionally, I accomplished on of my life goals today. After a day of relaxing I took a trip down to the beach (two block walk) where there were only a few hardcore surfers and a group of kids having a bonfire. As I listened to my iPod and let the waves crash against my feet I looked out into the horizon to the see the sun just above the ocean.

The sight was breathtaking and I got to witness a spectacle unseen anywhere else in the world. I got to see the sun fall over the Pacific Ocean. It was such a beautiful sight seeing the orange-red orb so important to us all slowly disappear behind the waves. I can only begin to describe the feeling I had. In that moment I felt more humble, more in place with the world. And in that moment I cried my eyes out. I have seen few things as beautiful as that sun over the Pacific.

Unfortunately for you I do not have any pictures. If you have ever heard the song 3×5 by John Mayer you would understand why. That moment was just for me. Now, I can check it one off of my long list of things to do before I die. Next on the list, visit Mumbai, India. We’ll see about that one.
