Speak
A lot of people ask me about the necklace I wear frequently. You can see it in the picture to the left. The necklace is a metal tag on a leather string that can adjust to fit my neck (and looks quite stylish I might add).
But that’s not why I wear it. I wear it for what it represents. I wear it to Speak without saying a word.
I received this necklace in return for a small donation I made a couple of years back to an organization called Aldo Fights Aids (ran by the Aldo shoe brand in partnership with YouthAids).
AIDS is one of the most pandemic problems our human race faces today. I could throw facts and statistics at you but I do not feel I have to. It is a problem; one that needs to be dealt with now. One that we as a people are all aware of but sadly complacent about.
Please find out more about Aldo Fights Aids at their website and if you feel as strongly as I do about it, make a donation. Any amount will help and you get a little style in return.

My Presidential Endorsement for 2008
I don’t like to put myself in any one political party since my views are mixed and come from long hard thought about subjects, not because of party lines. I also find understanding in most political sides of a debate but normally come to my own conclusion. I have voted for both democrats and republicans.
This time around I am endorsing Barack Obama for President because I see in him the rationality of F.D.R. with the ideals of J.F.K. Though I do not agree with him on everything, I have observed his character over the past several years (he has been in the state and federal senate representing Illinois) and I see two defining characteristics in him that I see in no other candidate.
1. He is Consistent
No matter where he is or who he is talking to, he is the same man. He speaks about the issues with the same respect and dignity to everyone. Mrs. Clinton on the other hand seems to change her clothing style, speech, mannerisms, and stance everywhere she goes. On the west coast she is an upper class lady who is firm on gun control, in the south she is a southern speaking home-cooked meal type of gal, and in Pennsylvania she is a country girl who’s father taught her to shoot guns as a kid.
Whether you see Barack speak at the industrial plants of southern Illinois, in the churches of Georgia, or in the face of defeat in New Hampshire, if you read his books or watch him present his case on the Senate floor, he is always the same man.
2. He Doesn’t Accept Lobbyists
His campaign has raised more money from more people than any primary in history. This is monumental and it shows that a candidate can be in the running without the support of special interest groups who then expect something in return.
Instead or traditional fund raising, every dollar that has gone into his campaign have been from individual contributers who want nothing more than a new direction for the country. These nearly 1.5 million people have lead him to the front running position of the election and will continue to in the general election.
My Conclusion
What this country needs is hope. It is more than a slogan on a sign or a means to get elected. What Hope is, is a driving force that gives people reason to make things better for themselves and others. Barack Obama gives people this hope. He gives me this hope. And for that I am endorsing him for the President of the United States.

Loving What You Do (and How to Find It)
I have had a lot of internal conflict lately about what I want to do with my life. I have a web design business that I love and I am also building writing career but I still struggle with what I really want to do with my life. I have so many interests and ideas that I sometimes cannot figure out where to aim my arrow.
BrianKim.net has an excellent article that has helped me with my dilemma. It is quite a long article but it really has insight into the development of discovering what you really want to do with your life. Here is an excerpt:
I suspect the vast majority of people who engage in this “I have to be doing something every minute because I can’t be by myself” mentality are just putting up a front to show people how satisfying and fulfilling their life is, when in reality, it’s just the opposite.

Random Inspiration
I was stumbling through really cool websites tonight… because I have that exciting of a life and I accidently stumbled upon this video that really inspired me. It is a preview of a college program of some sort but the words (especially at the end) in the video were very thought provoking.
If you have a few minutes to spare check out the preview of The Human Factor.

Starving Entrepreneur Fund
No, I am not a charity, nor is this blog.
But I recently quit my day job and became fully self employed.
As a means to keep it this way I may need some help. I quit at a hectic time (assuming an entrepreneur ever has a non-hectic time) and I ask for your support so I can continue to blog and do things to better the world and not just to make money.
I do not ask for much. My monthly output is minimal, as is my lifestyle but anything could help me out.
Am I doing this out of desperation? No. I do have school bills, car problems, etc. but who doesn’t at my age? I am just humbly asking for a trade off. I write good stuff that makes you think, you throw a little cash my way if you like it.
Thanks to whomever is willing.
