New Media

I am trying my hand at some video editing for a website of mine called Blog for Squares. Even though it is not a service of my company, video has always been an interest of mine. Soon I will be releasing the Introductory Video for my blog on unconventional thinking.

So stay tuned.

iPod Gen X

I have become quite an apple geek over the past year or so since back in the fall of ‘06 when I bought my MacBook from the Apple Store. Every so often (about four times a year) Apple comes out and drops a huge bomb on it’s users, the press, and the world.

Today was one of those days. I just watched the keynote speech for the entirely new iPod lineup. It was incredible to see some of the items they have developed. Some of the highlights were the new 2″ screen on the nano with video capabilities, the original iPod getting the title of “classic,” the new iPod touch that is like the iPhone without the phone part (plus thinner), and by far the most impressive innovation, I believe, was the Wi-Fi iTunes Store. Yes, I am serious. You can now download any song you would like straight from your pocket with the iPhone or iPod touch. And more to that was a partnership with Starbucks that allows users to download the music playing in their local favorite coffee shop (Starbucks of course).

I was recently talking to my mother about how incredible it was to go from her generation of having to buy and listen to an LP with no features but to play and stop, to being able to download any song imaginable straight from the computer desktop. Now, Apple has outdone my statement by allowing downloading straight from your pocket!

I have said and thought it many times before and I will say it again. “What will they think of next?” or more realistically, what have they already thought of and will introduce next?

Brain Storming

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

I was just trying to come up with some posts for my new blog called Blog for Squares and found it really easy to do once I got on a role. I have found this here and in the past that a simple brainstorming list with basic notes to each idea can really benefit any project whether it is some type of writing or more visual in nature.

Try it yourself. Instead of diving head first when you start, try skimming the water and getting comfortable with your concepts by brainstorming a bunch of possible ways to make it work and make it better.
